“Games from Ireland” Steam Event – Developer Information

The Irish Steam Sale is a curated Steam sales event celebrating games with a meaningful connection to Ireland - including Irish studios, Irish-led teams, the Irish diaspora and games with significant Irish creative contribution.
This document outlines eligibility, participation requirements, timelines, and what to expect if you’re taking part.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, games must meet all platform requirements and at least one Irish-connection criterion.
Platform Requirements
The game must have a valid Steam App ID
The Steam store page must be live (released, Early Access, or Coming Soon)
The title must comply with Steam’s Third-Party Sales Event rules
Irish Connection (One or More Required)
Your game is eligible if it meets one or more of the following:
Developed in Ireland
The studio is based in Ireland, or a significant portion of the development team works in Ireland.Irish Team or Irish-Led Development (Including Diaspora)
A meaningful percentage of the team, founders, or senior creative leadership is Irish, regardless of studio location.Significant Irish Creative Contribution
Games developed internationally that include a substantial Irish contribution in a core area of development.Irish Cultural Representation
Games that meaningfully feature Irish culture, characters, locations, history, folklore, language or themes.
Final eligibility decisions rest with IMIRT, in line with the event’s theme and Steam review requirements.
What Participation Involves
Inclusion on the official Irish Steam Sale page
Optional participation in:
Feature Showcase (contingent on selection process)
Highlight reel / looping video
Automatic Steam sale visibility (per Steam’s event rules)
Inclusion in IMIRT-led promotional activity (social media, newsletters)
Participation does not guarantee curated homepage featuring by Steam.
Selection process for Feature Showcase is informed by estimated sales, reviews, wishlists and market presence to maximise impact of event
Key Dates & Deadlines
Sign-Up Deadline
6 March 2026
Studios must confirm participation and submit their Steam App ID by this date.
Video & Streamer Materials Deadline
23 February 2026
By this date, studios may optionally submit:
Trailers and/or gameplay footage for inclusion in:
Feature Showcase
Highlight reel / looping broadcast
Steam keys for circulation with Irish and Irish-based streamers
Late submissions may not be included due to production timelines
Video & Footage Guidelines (Optional)
Existing trailers or gameplay preferred
No bespoke shoots required
Clean footage (no external branding or links)
Steam-safe content only
Selection for the feature showcase will prioritise:
Popular or high-interest titles
Released or proven games
Strong visual presentation
Discounts
Discounts are strongly encouraged for participating titles
Please note Steam’s 30-day discount cooldown when planning
Discount setup is managed directly through Steamworks
Marketing & Promotion
An information pack with approved marketing materials will be shared closer to launch
Developers will be encouraged (but not required) to:
Share the sale on social media
Amplify IMIRT posts
Direct audiences to the Steam sale page
All on-Steam promotion will remain fully Steam-compliant (no off-platform links)

To participate, you’ll be asked to provide:
Studio Name
Game Title
Steam App ID
Confirmation of Eligibility Criteria
Contact Details for Coordination
